Bob was in touch to say  that he has heard a Corncrake calling outside his house, the past 4 nights, worse still was that it had the cheek to walk up his drive this afternoon, before heading off in flight, needless to say Bob's camera was not to hand...
Today Jim Dickson had been out and about, a couple of Sanderling were on Uiskentuie strand, along on the merse at Bridgend a 2 CY Iceland Gull was seen with 61 P bb Geese counted further out on the estuary and in the trees at the Woollen Mill, a GS Woodpecker was added to Jim's bird list. From Gortan, he counted 16 RTD out on Loch Indaal.Down at Loch Gorm House, he had 24 Sandwich Tern, several in courtship, passing fish between each other, there were also 2 Common Terns  as well. At Craigens, another 2CY Iceland Gull was there as were 20 Golden Plover. On the flats at Gruinart, 10 Barnies and a GwfGWF Goose were seen while on the floods at Gruinart, 8 male and 4 female Wigeon , with a pair seen mating, a Ruff and also 9 Blackwits,. The 17 Whimbrel were still at Coull along with some Lapwing with their small chicks as well. At Rockside, an Iceland and also a Glaucous Gull were seen quite close together...
