Sunday 15th November

Catch up time with the rainfall over the past 24 hours, certainly not as much as other areas, but all the same we had 1.5 inches with the total for the month coming to a nice round 4.0 inches so far...not really heavy rain, just a steady fall of rain over 24 hours!!! On the Whooper Swan front, they are still on the move... More movements from yesterday included Mike seeing 37 fly past Port Charlotte, a 12 and then a 3, all around midday. Gary yesterday had 46 fly in from Jura and on inland, so possibly the Swans seen on Loch Skerrols by David and Pat Wileman. James today had 43 on the reserve at Gruinart and they took off flying South towards Loch Indaal. James reckons that his swans fly on over Loch Indaal and not to be confused with the swans seen here and around the Loch Gorm area. This morning, there were 2 groups flying away from here this morning, one of 13 and then 32 followed soon afterwards. Down on Rockside, early afternoon there were 3 groups of Swans on the different barley stubbles, 75, 27 and a smaller group of only 10. The lochans down there are as large as we can recall, and another "new" lochan where there was not there before!
