A not bad day with the weather with a beautiful sunset as I write the blog... The Rochdale birders are over for the week again and have sent some sightings from their travels today.. Down at Bruichladdich, there were 2 Purple Sandpipers present, along at the coalyard, 5 Whimbrel flew past. At Loch Tallant, a Sparrowhawk was seen. Round at Ballinaby, they heard 2 Corncrakes as well as 2 Grasshopper Warblers. Also at Ballinaby, a flock of 80 Golden Plover and around 100 Linnets along with a few Linnets. They also commented on hearing some Cuckoos on their way around Islay today.
